The diamond segments are created by combining industrial diamonds and bond powders and hot pressing them into the size and shape desired for a particular cutting tool. Factors affecting the quality of the tool are diamond concentration, diamond quality and type of bonding powder. Tools that cut concrete fast, do not always give the best tool life. The trick is to design a segment that not only cuts fast but also has an acceptable cutting life.

Segments are either silver soldered or laser welded to the steel core. Dry cut diamond tools are always laser welded. Wet cut diamond tools can be laser welder or silver soldered.

Through several years of trying different segment composition for various conditions, Diamond Cut has come up with segment specifications which best suit each cutting scenario. These segments are then placed on the best steel cores, made in the U.S.A. and labeled with the job application for which they were intended.
